The successful registration of a utility model does not require an examination of its content carried out by the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA – Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt). After a short examination concerning the formal requirements of the application, the utility model will be registered within a period of about three months after which you can already assert your rights against third parties.
